Sound like a good place for Roses. Contrary to popular myths, roses are really fairly easy to grow. Pruning them takes a little knowledge. Care is fairly easy, only need a Rose Fungicide, and Rose fertilizer. Just read the labels. This will bring color (your choice), variety (your choice), and aesthetics to work with your pillars.
