Butterfly birth Papilio polyxenes or Black Swallowtail

Took a short stroll through the garden just now and saw a Black Swallowtail emerging from its chrysalis and hang out to dry off its wings.
If the Evening Primrose had not fallen down in the storm, it would have been a foot or more overhead and out of eyesight.

BugGuide.net has information about Black Swallowtails at http://bugguide.net/node/view/2636

We are about as far west as they travel - http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Papilio-glaucus

If you are a regular reader, you'll recall that a Black Swallowtail caterpillar was hanging out on the Rue plants one sunny day.
